Hunger Does Not Discriminate: The Lebanese and the Displaced are Food-insecure
Large numbers of people are on the move in Lebanon, with limited access to affordable and stable food supply. This is happening amid a hotbed of problems: Recent political shocks, such as the escalation of conflict in September 2024 and the fall of the Assad regime in neighboring Syria, in addition to lingering long-term economic crises and a soaring inflation that hurt the Lebanese citizens and refugees alike.
Food prices alone have risen by 5,000 percent compared to pre-COVID-19, such that three in four children under five are eating diets with very little diversity, leaving them vulnerable to stunted growth and a low weight for their age, according to the WFP.

How You Can Help
We urgently need your help to provide emergency food aid.
In January 2025, some 1.65 million people are facing crisis or emergency levels of hunger, with 400,000 additional people classified as acutely food insecure compared to early 2024.
IMRelief is responding quickly to prevent hunger in Lebanon. We have successfully reached 15,000 people, but the needs outpace resources. We particularly focus on women households as they suffer the most barriers to food accessibility in a fragile situation.
We also source our commodities, best we can, locally from small businesses, mainly owned or operated by women or women households. This way the donations we receive triple their value: 1. They reach the food beneficiaries, 2. They create jobs, and 3. They drive economic empowerment, especially for women.
This work is happening in tandem with our humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza.
Every donation counts. Please act now to help us save lives in both Lebanon and Gaza.
