SECTOR CONTEXT
There are roughly 153 million orphans worldwide, with an additional 6,000 more children becoming orphans every day. Children are often relinquished due to war, natural disaster, poverty, disease, stigma, and medical needs. Moreover, COVID-19 has increased the risk of harm to children while simultaneously disrupting the delivery of essential child protection services.
IMRELIEF EFFORTS
IMRelief child protection strategy provides assistance for most vulnerable children and their caregivers of four types (1) families caring for orphan children; (2) families caring for children with disabilities; (3) families caring for people/children with chronic illnesses; and (4) female-headed families.
Your precious donation will fulfill the following needs for orphans and vulnerable children:
- Basic Needs: Access to food, housing, clothing, and other necessary supplies.
- Education: Access to education, often stabilizing the child’s interrupted school experience, and/or jumpstarting them on valuable educational tracks such as STEM and coding.
- Health: Access to preventative medical care, to sustain their well-being and lower their risk of illness and disease.
- Foster care: Access to foster care through giving potential foster families a comprehensive incentive voucher package system
