IMRELIEF ROHINGYA EFFORTS
Beneficiary Context
One million Rohingya live in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, the world’s largest refugee settlement. Nearly half of this refugee population are children, many of whom have spent their entire lives as refugees.
Rohingya are stranded without livelihood opportunities and rely entirely on humanitarian assistance to survive. They also have limited access to education and health services, suffer from food shortage and child malnourishment, and live under the constant threat of extreme climate events.
IMRelief aims to provide the following:
- Emergency Response: for natural disasters, especially recurring heavy monsoon rains, flash floods and landslides.
- Food Security: Food aid since the Rohingya rely almost entirely on food aid as they are not allowed to leave the camps or formally work.
